Our Methodology

How BowlScout researches, compares and updates automatic feeder recommendations.

  1. Product discovery

We start with a defined use case, such as wet-food storage, multiple pets, large-dog capacity, microchip access, camera monitoring or outdoor durability. Inclusion is not an endorsement.

  2. Specification and manufacturer research

Research can include manuals, published specifications, retailer listings, warranty information, cleaning instructions and established pet-care references.

  3. Feature and use-case comparison

We compare capacity, food compatibility, scheduling, power, cleaning, access control, app dependence, subscriptions and other factors relevant to the guide.

  4. Recommendation logic

We prioritize suitability, clarity of documentation, practical limitations, reliability signals and value. A higher commission does not change the criteria.

  5. Updates and corrections

Specifications, prices, apps and availability change. Pages are reviewed periodically and may be updated sooner when a material change is reported.

If a maker specification has changed, contact BowlScout with the model, version and source page.

Manufacturer-provided information

Published specifications and instructions are attributed to their source. Approximate capacity conversions are labelled, and incompatible units are not forced into misleading comparisons.

Independent analysis

BowlScout compares documented features against a defined household need, explains trade-offs and does not present marketing claims as independently verified facts.

Hands-on testing

We do not claim hands-on testing unless it actually occurred and is described. When conclusions rely on documentation and owner-feedback patterns, we say so.
